Life, Lately

By the time I post this, the clock will have struck midnight and it will be officially summer. Although I'm an autumn girl at heart, there is something enchanting about the daylight that lingers late into the evening, the refreshing colors that appear after a grey winter, the lifted spirits of everyone I meet. And there is nothing more perfect than a summer day with just the right amount of humidity mixed with a refreshing breeze... especially when we don't have to work and can enjoy it together. We even got a jump start at checking off my  summer bucket list  this past week!  Work is always so busy for both Ben and I but I think we've figured out a manageable balance that keeps us sane. We take advantage of every day off... some days we go on adventures... other days we spend binge watching Hawaii Five-0 and finally catching up on some sleep... and every day I remind myself to stop worrying about the messy house (the struggle is beyond real).   Having three dogs..

My Sweet Maverick

Dear Maverick,  It's been a week since I saw you last... 7 days since Curtis and I sat at the top of Mom's stairs petting you. A week since Mom told me you had labs drawn that were severely abnormal. A week since she told me they would be repeating the labs the next day to make sure they were accurate. And now I sit here and write this as I struggle to hold back tears... so many of them... and my mind is flooded with memories of you. It feels like yesterday I was beaming with excitement as Derek and I drove to the airport to pick you up. I had planned on keeping you a secret until we got home but that was nearly impossible. You were just a little bundle of fur with the biggest paws around... and a brave little

Motorcycle Week - Laconia, New Hampshire

Last weekend my little brother, Ben and I packed up and took off on the motorcycles for a few nights to Laconia, New Hampshire. I've never been to "Motorcycle week" in Laconia and boy was I in for a treat. Let's just say no one is modest when it comes to clothing in that place and the people watching is fantastic. I was the luckiest girl in the state surrounded by the best looking biker studs around.  The downtown strip of Laconia is a hoot... booths upon booths selling corsets, t-shirts, and leather everything, more motorcycles in one place than I've ever seen, signs for wet t-shirt contests, a stand where you could get a haircut in the middle of the street, so many people... chaos. Luckily, we visited the strip during the day and were able to disappear from the madness at night to a friends adorable cottage. The first day we met up with friends from the gym who took us out on Lake Winnipesaukee. The lake is massive... I'd totally be lost if I had to
