crossfit summer throw down

a few weeks ago my crossfit gym hosted an in-house summer throw down.. in english, that means a competition between only members of the gym. i debated participating in this event because i had to work the night shift before and i knew i would be exhausted.. BUT i'm glad i did because it was so much fun.

each competition i've participated in has been different.. one was same gender partners, one was male/female partners and this one was teams of 4 and picked by our coaches.. which was awesome because i got to workout with people i don't usually partner or share a class with!

i've made so many friends at crossfit and crossfit people are the best kind to surround yourself with. everyone is so motivated, hardworking and with a common goal.. to become a healthier version of ourselves (i can't think of a better group of people to surround myself with). you'd think a community that competes against each other on a daily basis would be more hostile but it's the complete opposite. we all have our own strengths and weaknesses and we are constantly pushing each other to be better.

crossfit is hard if you want it to be.. of course there are people who slack and try to cheat their numbers during wods (workout of the day).. but most of us spend our time pushing our bodies to limits we never knew were possible. to an uncomfortable area.. one that makes you better and stronger both physically and mentally. and when you finish a workout and you sit on the floor out of breath and leave a sweat stain of your body, you know it was a good day. and you know you'll be back for more in 24 hours.

if you're looking for a life change and haven't tried crossfit, i HIGHLY recommend it. step out of your comfort zone.. you won't regret it!
