Bachelorette Party

growing up, i never felt like i had close girl friends. i was friendly in school and talked to lots of people, but didn't get invited to parties or get togethers.. and at the time, it really bothered me. i was envious of the girls who were always surrounded by friends, both in school and outside. i was jealous of the plans everyone had on weekends. but i just never felt like i "fit in."

these days, i realize just how true that was.. i didn't fit it. i was prude and a nerd and cared too much about studying. and i can't tell you how happy that makes me today. how much i wish i could tell my 16 year old self that i was doing everything right.. i didn't need to have fake friends.. it was totally cool to be a nerd and study too much.. i didn't need to be partying and drinking and smoking weed like everyone else was.. i was perfectly fine just where i was.

and now, as i've gotten older, i've made some of the best friends a girl could ask for. friends that are loyal and supportive and always there when i need them. friends that make me laugh and tell me the truth and are total badasses that can lift more and run faster than most. unlike those people i always wanted to associate with at 16, these girls are true friends and i'm so lucky to have them in my life.

recently, a few of them planned an amazing girls day for my bachelorette party that was so much fun. what better way to spend a saturday afternoon than one outside on a porch, surrounded by friends, sipping on (lots of) wine and devouring snacks? it's the best way.

the weather did not want to cooperate with us and decided to completely downpour.. like buckets upon buckets of water falling from the sky. so we pulled out our raincoats and umbrellas and didn't let the rain ruin our day. we piled in the car and headed to a small winery in rhode island called diamond hill vineyards. the winery is family owned and operated and their wine selection is very unique as they use multiple kinds of fruit instead of just grapes.. cherries, blackberries, cranberries, blueberries..  so yummy. they also have a lovely yard (which became a muddy mess) and a covered patio for when it's raining (thank goodness).

thanks for such a fun day ladies!
