5 things i'm loving lately

this summer has by far been my favorite yet.. filled with so many adventures, so many friends and family, so much ice cream and fitness, so much puppy love and wedding planning. i'm loving every second of it.

today i wanted to share 5 things i've been really into lately..

1. Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Frozen Yogurt (with rainbow sprinkles, of course)
i literally would eat this every single day if ben let me. thankfully he steps in to act as my voice of reason sometimes.

2. Reading Novels Together
i've finally been getting back into reading more books and watching less television when i have free time (ha, not as often as i'd like). a few weeks ago, on our drive home from nantucket, we were stuck in so much traffic and i was about to start a new book while ben drove. i ended up convincing him to let me read it out loud and now we're both hooked. we read on long drives, while sitting in the yard sipping wine, when we have a few extra minutes before work. i love it and plan to continue once this book is completed.

3. Outdoor Cardio
i recently downloaded the under armour app "mapmyride" and it's so awesome! we've been getting into road biking and i'm really hoping to get more into kayaking (we just went on our first kayaking trip last week). this app is so cool because you can change to whatever activity you're doing and it will map out where you go, the distance covered, the calories burned, your average speed. and i'm really trying to take advantage of this warm weather because it'll be freezing and i'll be back on the treadmill again before we know it!
my grandma came with us kayaking.. she's the cutest!

4. Hats
obviously straw hats are trendy lately but they are also timeless and i've totally fallen for the trend. while we were in nantucket a few weeks ago, we visited the peter beaton hat studio and ben and i somehow managed to each spend $300 on a hat. crazy, i know. but i'm so happy we did because i love them so much. my hat is wide brimmed and a little more fancy or would look lovely when worn outside. ben's hat looks amazing on him outside but definitely gives him a beachy vibe (perfect for the dominican republic). and, the best part is that i really lucked out in this purchase because i've totally rocked ben's hat before i even wore mine! i told him i'd share my hat with him but i don't think he's down with the girly look. at least i offered.

5. Scones
as i've gotten older, less sweet things have become more and more appealing. if you asked me to eat a scone over a cupcake a few years ago i would have thought you were a lunatic. but lately i'm loving these slightly sweet and delicious treats.. and blueberry is definitely my favorite. so far i've only found really yummy ones on vacation though and am looking for a local place to impress me.. or maybe i'm not because i'll probably eat them way more than i should!
