Nantucket is always a good idea

I spent my entire life living in Massachusetts and I never realized I had been missing such a lovely island so close to home until Ben introduced me to Nantucket last summer. I have since decided it will be my life goal to buy a house there... but for now, I'll settle for visits... and I think we've already started an annual tradition.

Right now I'm daydreaming about our upcoming trip and looking over pictures from last year.

Last year we brought our bikes and spent the days exploring the island... we road around so much and I did not prepare my bum for 30+ miles on a bike seat... my bum was very mad at me. But, aside from a sore behind, biking was such a great way to travel around Nantucket... way cheaper than bringing your car, you can take them places you can't drive, you actually enjoy the sites since they don't fly by like in a car, and you get exercise!
For the first time we used Airbnb and found a beautiful house near downtown with a room for rent that felt like we were in a high class hotel... walking distance to town, private entrance, private bathroom, bedroom that belonged in a coastal decorating magazine... I don't know about your experiences with this app (and I have nothing else to compare it to since I've only used it in Nantucket) but we really lucked out.

So per typical Ben and Jess getaways, we spent our days exploring. Oh, and I spent my time swooning over the cedar shingle sided houses, the endless hydrangeas, the boats, the coastline...

We headed to Cisco brewery on the island for one day and enjoyed local beer, wine, 888 vodka, live music and yummy food trucks.

The beaches are perfect...

Of course for dinner I had to wear nautical stripes. ⚓️

Oh, how I love this little island and everything it has to offer... truly New England at its finest. And I'm so excited to go back!
