Summer 2017 Bucket List

Oh summer, how nice of you to show up. After a seemingly endless cold winter and a rainy spring, the longer days and warmth of June seem to make this life so much sweeter.
But these summer days seem to fly by in the blink of an eye... perhaps because I anticipate this season all year or maybe because it really is short lived... either way, I'm often left with a list of should haves when it's over. I'm sure we all have a summer to do list that just doesn't get accomplished... leaving us with adventures put off for another year and activities stored away for some other time and place.

As I get older, time has become so much more precious. I've come to realize that days really will pass us by if we don't take the time to enjoy them. So now its time to make a new list... and this year let's plan on doing and seeing it all. Take the trip. Hit the beach. Host a barbecue. Chase an ice cream truck a few times.

It's Friday and my weekend challenge for you is to make your own summer bucket list. Hang it up somewhere it'll stand out and can't be ignored. And then get to enjoying this summer... it'll be cold again before we know it!

My Summer 2017 Bucket List
1. Make a campfire, invite family and friends, play some music and spend the night making s'mores.
2. Go to a Red Sox game, drink beer, and enjoy a hotdog.
3. Find a cozy spot to lay down a blanket and watch fireworks... preferably for Fourth of July.
4. Visit a farmers market... or multiple... I always find so many yummy treats.
5. Go on a camping trip.
6. Pack the Jeep with lots of blankets and snacks and head to the drive-in movies.
7. Host a barbecue.
8. Go kayaking.
9. Take the pups on a hike and then bring them for ice cream. Lots of ice cream stands have special doggy dishes (usually topped with bones).
10. Pack a cooler with wine, cheese, bread, fruit and chocolate, grab a blanket, and go out for a picnic.
11. Head to the beach early to watch the sunrise.
12. Run a road race.
13. Go to a concert.
14. Visit an amusement park or carnival... obviously eat fried dough.
15. Go for ice cream (we do this way too often).
16. Go to a local farm and pick berries.
17. Visit a vineyard or brewery.
18. Read more books.
19. Spend every chance I get outside.
